In response to the respiratory illness caused by Coronavirus (COVID-19), we would like to assure the public that we are following recommended guidelines provided by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and Prevention and local health authorities. The CDC has advised people to take precautions in light of the coronavirus outbreak and that the best way to prevent illness is to avoid being exposed to this virus.
Therefore, effective immediately, the Murphys Cemetery District is putting the following rules into place:
· All non-essential in-person services provided by our district, which includes the showing and purchasing of pre-need plots are cancelled.
· Burial site selection will be limited to no more than two (2) family members/friends being present.
· To protect public health and slow the rate of transmission of COVID-19, pursuant to the guidelines issued by the Governor, small gatherings that may involve high risk individuals, such as funeral services involving older family members, are to be limited to no more than 10 people and the gathering must allow social distancing of 6 feet from each person.
· Murphys Cemetery District board meetings, starting with the April 15, 2020 meeting, are cancelled for as long as the COVID-19 threat continues.
