In response to the respiratory illness caused by Coronavirus (COVID-19), we would like to assure the public that we are following recommended guidelines provided by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and Prevention and local health authorities. The CDC has advised people to take precautions in light of the coronavirus outbreak and that the best way to prevent illness is to avoid being exposed to this virus.
Therefore, effective immediately, the Murphys Cemetery District is cancelling all non-essential in-person services provided by our district, which includes the showing and purchasing of pre-need plots. We are sorry for this disruption and encourage you to contact us by telephone if you have any questions or need to make funeral arrangements. We can be reached by phone at 209 728-2387 or email at (redacted).
To protect public health and slow the rate of transmission of COVID-19, pursuant to the guidelines issued by the Governor, small gatherings that may involve high risk individuals, such as funeral services involving older family members, should be limited to no more than 10 people and the gathering should allow social distancing of 6 feet from each person.
In addition, Murphys Cemetery District board meetings in the coming months may be cancelled at the discretion of the board Chair and Vice Chair for as long as the COVID-19 threat continues.
